Founded in 1983 by Doctor Michael A. Pikos, Coastal Jaw Surgery has grown into a thriving multispecialty practice with six locations serving the greater Tampa Bay, Florida area. Their groundbreaking work has led to innovative procedures that make implant placement surgeries both safer and more efficient for patients. Dr. Pikos also helped pioneer Same Day Teeth®, which allows for immediate attachment of a full-arch restoration following dental implants placement. Coastal Jaw Surgery takes pride in ensuring their patients are in expert, caring hands at every visit. In addition to implants, they offer a wide range of dental health services, including oral surgery and periodontal services.

Dr. Michael A. Pikos
Dr. Michael A. Pikos founded Coastal Jaw Surgery in 1983 and is now the CEO and senior member of the nine-doctor multispecialty surgical based practice. He has extensive experience in implant surgery, having placed more than 35,000 implants and performed thousands of hard and soft tissue grafting procedures. He emphasizes interactive CT technology along with foundational principles of prosthetics and biomechanics that dictate the ultimate success of comprehensive implant rehabilitation. Since 1990, he has devoted his practice exclusively to implant dentistry. He is also the CEO and founder of the internationally-renowned Pikos Institute, another founding partner of Modis.
He attended The Ohio State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He also graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He completed a one-year surgical based general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH and completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, Montefiore Hospital.
